What types of Paxton systems are available?

Paxton offers several main system types. Net2 is its networked access control system. Paxton10 combines access control and video management. Entry is Paxton’s door entry system. PaxLock provides wireless access control in a door handle. For smaller or simpler jobs, Switch2 and Compact offer standalone options.

What is the difference between Paxton Net2 and Paxton10?

Net2 is Paxton’s established networked access control platform, designed to be administered from one or more PCs and managed from a central location. Paxton10 is a more all-in-one platform that combines access control with video management and supports features such as multi-site management, remote management, smartphone credentials, integration with Entry and PaxLock, and support for up to 1000 doors and 1000 cameras.

Is Paxton suitable for small sites as well as larger buildings?

Yes. For smaller sites, Paxton offers standalone systems such as Compact and Switch2, which are designed for simple administration without the need for a PC. For larger or more complex sites, Net2 and Paxton10 provide networked management and broader system capability.

Can Paxton be used for a single door?

Yes. Paxton has options for single-door applications. Switch2 is a single-door standalone control unit, while Compact is aimed at straightforward internal door control. Networked systems such as Net2 and Paxton10 can also be used where a site may start with one door and expand later.

Are Paxton readers suitable for external doors?

In many cases, yes. Paxton states that the majority of its readers are fully sealed against water, are UV stable and are suitable for external use unless otherwise stated. For standalone sites needing external door control, Paxton also positions Switch2 as suitable for external doors.
